Exhibitors Felecia Jensen and Leah Opas worked on their improving golf skills, while enjoying the Dixon Challenge and golf at Stonewall Resort.

Following opening remarks by WVOS President Ede and WVPTA President Tarr, WVPTA Vice President Carrie Abraham, PT, DPT, MPH, presented an overview on national issues.
WVOS Past President and AAOS Councilor Greg Krivchenia shared breaking information on SGR, ICD-10 and other federal issues.
Our first clinical presentation was delivered by Dr. Benjamin Frye of WVU on risk factors and prevention of dislocation following THA.
Osteoporosis and hip issues were covered by Marshall University’s Dr. Frank Shuler. He received near-perfect ratings from participants, scoring 4.95 out of 5.0.
Former WVOS President Dr. David Hubbard, with WVU, shared information on what’s new in hips for 2014.
Joseph Moskal, MD, FACS, joined us from the Carilion Clinic Medical Center in Roanoke to discuss the anterior hip approach and why now for cementing hips.
Dr. Robert Meneghini of IU Health Saxony Hospital in Indianapolis shared another interpretation of the anterior hip approach.
Other speakers for the day included John Christoforetti, MD, FAAOS, of Physician’s Landing Zone in Pittsburgh, Benjamin Kivlan, MS, PT, SCS, OCS, CSCS of Tri-State Physical Therapy in Pittsburgh, and Will McCormick, MD, FRCSC of Orthopedic Healthcare Associates in Charleston
Members of the WV Orthopaedic Society, WV Association of Orthopaedic Executives and WV Physical Therapy Association enjoyed several breaks during the day which gave them a chance to visit with exhibitors.
